HAPPY PLACES
When it’s not so sunny outside, I think back to sunnier days and happy places. Vivid colours, bright and happy… here are some of my favourite places that burst with joy!
1. WYNWOOD WALLS. MIAMI
My family probably thought I lost my mind when I exclaimed, “we’re going to see warehouses!” But these weren’t just the usual ordinary drab, industrial warehouses… these were full of vibrant, bold colours and art! After all, Wynwood Walls has been deemed, “Museum of the Streets” so of course we had to go. Read more about Wynwood Walls here.
2. SEVEN MAGIC MOUNTAINS. LAS VEGAS
First warehouses now rocks. Yes, I went to see rocks. But not any rocks. BIG ones in the middle of the desert! I love finding magic in offbeat places and you can’t get more offbeat than gigantic coloured boulders in the desert. Read more about Seven Magic Mountains here.
3. COLOR FACTORY. NEW YORK CITY
In recent years, pop-up interactive exhibitions have become all the rage. Inspired around a particular theme, the installations are a fun way to immerse visitors into another world and be Instagram-worthy at the same time. There are many and I’ve been to more than my share to render myself an experiential expert. Out of all these immersive experiences my favourite is Color Factory. Read more about Color Factory here.
4. THE BROAD. LOS ANGELES
Joy is definitely what you’ll find at The Broad, a contemporary art museum in downtown Los Angeles. It’s a place to get lost in creativity, be inspired and delight in the visual eye candy. I love bringing my kids to art museums to see the works through their eyes. Read more about The Broad here.
5. GARDENS BY THE BAY. SINGAPORE
My heart overflowed with an abundance of joy. Flowers. Flowers. Flowers at every turn. Gardens by the Bay is an expansive nature park, botanical garden, nirvana for horticulturist and garden enthusiasts. There is simply nothing like this place and no words cannot describe the awestruck feeling that takes over when you step inside. Read more about Gardens by the Bay here.
