Joy is a holly jolly celebration. ‘Tis the season when all companies get their teams together for some holiday cheer… but what if you don’t have a team to celebrate with? You still deserve to share the festive spirit right?
Christmas 2018 was the first time in over a decade that I didn’t have a full team to celebrate with. Being a solo entrepreneur this time of year was like Rudolph not being able to join any of the reindeer games. Rather than sit alone under the mistletoe, I decided to call upon some of my favourite independent women, fellow entrepreneurs with a small or no team at all, to celebrate together! Just because we may be in “solitaire” mode doesn’t mean we should miss out on the joy of the season.
Nestled in the heart of Montreal, Ristorante Beatrice provided the perfect atmosphere for our holiday get-together. The table, meticulously adorned with seasonal florals and decorations, beautifully emphasized the festive spirit and our shared joy. The air buzzed with laughter, warmth, and the clinking of glasses. It was heartwarming to see these incredible women, who usually navigated the business world independently, come together to share stories and cheer each other on.
As we sat around the table, enjoying delicious food and heartfelt conversations, it became evident that this holiday lunch was more than just a seasonal gathering. It was a celebration of sisterhood and the strength that comes from supporting one another. Our shared experiences and the challenges we faced as entrepreneurs had forged a unique bond among us, making this holiday celebration truly special.
Our holiday lunch was a reminder that collaboration and connection are invaluable. As these friendships continue to thrive, they prove the holiday season is not merely about decorations and presents, but more importantly, about the people with whom we choose to share it. So, here’s to celebrating the holidays, our successes, and the incredible women who make the journey worthwhile. Being in “solitaire” mode is an opportunity to create new traditions, build lasting connections, and embrace the true spirit of the holidays – together.
